Honey Glazed Chicken

HONEY GLAZED CHICKEN

Sweet, sticky and moreish, this chicken recipe cooked on the BBQ is sure to be loved by the whole family! Made in the Cast Iron Platter, it’s quick and simple with an easy clean-up.

Time: 25 minutes

Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 6 chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 50g unsalted butter
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 3 tbsps honey
  • 1 ½ tbsps apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • Pinch of red pepper or chilli flakes
  • 2 tbsps spring onions for garnish (optional)

Method

Chicken

  1. Pat the chicken dry with a paper towel and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Preheat your BBQ (or grill if cooking indoors) to 200°C and place your Cast Iron Platter onto the heat for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Place the chicken onto the Cast Iron Platter and cook skin side down for 4-5 minutes to crisp up the chicken skin.
  4. Flip the chicken and cook for another 10-15 minutes.

Glaze

  1. Meanwhile, in a Cast Iron Skillet (or saucepan if making on the hob), melt butter.
  2. Add the garlic, honey, soy sauce, vinegar and red pepper flakes.
  3. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes or until the mixture has reduced to a glaze. Remove from heat.
  4. When the chicken is ready, brush or pour the glaze over the top.
  5. Slide the platter onto the wooden trivet and serve up hot at the table.
